You are a hedgehog trying to mind your business and go about your day. Your goal: to enjoy a cup of tea and bask in the sun. The problem is, all your neighbors and friends are trying to get your attention and help for any number of tasks! Make your escape to your toadstool home before the neighborhood busybodies take up all your time and energy.
Tea & Toadstools is a solo GM-less journaling game in which you will document your experiences as a hedgehog in a twill vest who just wants to be left in peace, but other folks in the forest neighborhood have other plans. The game is intended to be silly and thought-provoking as you write out your hedgehog character’s story.
Throughout the game, you will move around the “board” made up of cards from a standard playing deck as you try to make your escape to reach your toadstool home (the Goal Card) and record your experiences along the way for posterity.

A beautifully illustrated and wonderful easy to game to play as a solo player.
I have found it well written and explained, giving options to journal your adventures as a little hedgehog going about your day, or to simply enjoy a game.
The carta system is very easy to follow.
All in all a great solo adventure with woodland animals, well done Anya and team x
Basking in the sun with a cup of tea is a great goal for any hedgehog, and is what Hedgie is hoping to do. The problem is that all their neighbours and friends are trying to get their attention and help for any number of tasks! Your goal is to have Hedgie make their escape to their toadstool home before the neighbourhood busybodies take up all their time and energy.
I think Tea & Toadstools is a light-hearted and charming game whose trio of alternate rules offer customizable gameplay in order to create a game that works best for your needs at the moment! There is something very relatable about just wanting to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea in peace, and that simply not happening.
