The small town of Whispering Pines, WV was once a picturesque site along winding state roads where city folks would drive up to take photos of the fall colors as the dense forest trees turned in the autumn. In recent years, however, strange disappearances have left the otherwise-peaceful town worried that someone dangerous is on the loose.

The Hunters have heard rumors about the town of Whispering Pines. It’s hard to get to, as GPS is unreliable in the Appalachian Mountains, and winding state and county roads are the only way to get there. Recently, a popular ghost hunting vlogger went missing after saying he was heading to Whispering Pines, following up on other rumored disappearances in the area.

Whispering Pines's name was inspired by, but is in no way related to, the name of a suburban development I saw when driving on Long Island, NY.  The name sounded so perfect for a spooky MotW module!
