The Siren’s Calling is a solo GM-less journaling TTRPG that uses the Major Arcana of tarot to tell the story of a mermaid following the call to adventure to explore the ocean beyond your home reef.

During your journey, your mermaid will experience many highs and lows and possibly even consider returning home to the safety of the reef.

The end of your journey is never truly the ending, however. It is but the beginning of the next chapter on the high seas.

To play, you will need:

  • The Major Arcana from the tarot deck of your choosing.
    • Alternately, if you don’t have a tarot deck on hand or prefer not to use one, you can use a random number generator. If you do, flip a coin to determine if the number is Upright (heads) or Reversed (tails).
  • A journal or word processor to record your experiences.
  • (optional) An ocean sounds playlist to immerse yourself.

I had a sneak peek at this game before it was published and it's lovely! it's a good blend of prompts and the normal/inverted direction makes things interesting. I didn't know much of anything about tarot going in but it's pretty easy to understand.
